After snow thawing it is a good time to check drainage outlets in lawns. If water is collecting on patches of lawn aerate by using a garden fork to create drainage holes in the lawn. On heavy soils, particularly clay you may need to use a hollow tine aerator to ease drainage. Other lawn jobs include raking thatch off and clearing debris such as fallen leaves and worm casts.
