The “Engine Shed” Cafe

* A quiet, relaxing corner of the garden centre where you can meet a friend or simply read through your gardening books with a frothy cappuchino!
*Serving light snacks and refreshments
*Our speciality is our home made cakes and cream teas

Cafe manager Kate has joined the Garden Store team, having previously worked at the Goodrich Castle cafe, where she was famous for her home made cheese scones!
Already she is building a great name for her delicious cakes-which are baked daily and change regularly to mirror the produce available at any particular time. To date, we have seen Chocolate and Beetroot cake, Carrot and Orange, Fruit infused with Mint Tea, with many more to come. As the gardening season progresses, look out for apples, plums, rhubarb, olives, rosemary and possibly a bit of lavender and edible bedding plants featured in the mix for something different!
Always with a view to linking gardening with our recipes. The menu will evolve throughout the summer-to include ploughmans lunches, soups quiche, pasties and other savoury snacks.

Seating outdoors during the summer will provide extra space, and enable customers to view the wide range of plants that we offer and maybe have a chat to our local landscape expert.
