About Us

Since the opening of Ross Garden Store in April 2006, the business has gone from strength to strength. Having undergone major construction work the store now has a large covered area outdoors, and a large car park.

Walk leisurely around the plants, displayed within informal garden settings that will inspire you.  Browse, or ask our friendly staff to help you choose those plants that are right for your situation.

If we don’t have exactly what you are looking for, we should be able to source it for you, via our vast network of nurseries and contacts. We pride ourselves on only selecting the best quality plants to be included within our range, and all are hand selected and sourced from all over the U.K. as well as Italy, Belgium and Holland, in order to bring you the latest varieties and trends.

Our speciality is specimen plants. These range from trees and shrubs, to palms and topiary. All are available to order.
We also stock patio furniture, stoneware, enamelware, metalwork, water features, obelisks and general points of interest that make your garden come alive, and reflect you and your personality.

Within our shop you will find houseplants, orchids, and sundry items, beautifully presented, to include gifts and ideas for the discerning gardener, all gift-wrapped on request.

Seasonal lines such as bedding plants, bulbs, seeds and perennials compliment the range throughout the year, providing an ever-changing source of interest. alongside the gardening necessities of chemicals, fertilisers, wild bird care and composts.

Ross Garden Store is situated within walking distance of Ross town centre, and was set up originally to provide the population of Ross with everything a gardener may require.

The outdoor plant area extends to approx 1 acre and is now fully undercover, so that you can browse at a leisurely pace, protected from the elements.

Plants are displayed amongst a collection of garden furniture, and other garden features, to give you plenty of inspiration for your own plot, and range from ground cover varieties up to huge specimen trees-bought in weekly to offer a colourful seasonal range at all times.

The historical old stone shop, provides a perfect back drop for the garden related giftware, reclamation pieces, wrought iron garden furniture and general garden sundries.

You can expect individual attention and personal service that goes hand in hand with a unique and independently owned business, and knowledgeable staff are always on hand to give expert advice.

The store also offers a garden design and landscape service.  We have a 3 point plan to help guide you through the daunting process of planning new beds/borders, or re-working an existing site to provide you with a garden that reflects you and your own personality. Take as much or as little imput as you like from us - we can tailor a plan to suit your needs, budget and timescale.

A new cafe opened on site in 2011, providing light snacks and refreshments. Sit indoors, or relax and unwind with a cup of tea in our outdoor seating area set amongst the plants.

Our two dogs Giant Schnauzers Nelson and Millie are always on site to meet and greet our customers.
They are 8 years old and have been at the store since we opened in 2006!
They can usually be found lounging by the till, as they like to see who is coming and going and take a great interest in people leaving the cafe with titbits in their hands!
They have a local fan base-children in particular like to play with them while their parents shop with us.
In 2010 they became honoury members of the local guides/brownies when Ross Garden Store did a free make-over of the borders around the Scout & Guide Hut in the town.
